In 2017, as I began physically preparing to move to France, French words began appearing in my work. There is often an interplay between the title and words used as part of the painting. The intelligence quotient (IQ) test is designed to estimate human intelligence. But the intelligence of the senses—particularly those pertaining to innate abilities with aesthetics—are rarely tested, despite their profound impact on quality of life. En 2017, alors que je commençais à me préparer physiquement à déménager en France, des mots français ont commencé à apparaître dans mon travail. Il y a souvent une interaction entre le titre et les mots utilisés dans le cadre de la peinture. Le test du quotient intellectuel (QI) est conçu pour évaluer l’intelligence humaine. Mais l’intelligence des sens – en particulier ceux qui concernent les capacités innées avec l’esthétique – sont rarement testées, malgré leur impact profond sur la qualité de vie.
